DIESEL AUTOMOTIVE INSTRUCTOR - Part Time

Directly responsible to the Dean of Continuing Education or appropriate administrator.

1. Develop and deliver customer specific instructional training to Triton's business community in any of the following areas: 
a. Diesel Technology 
b. Blue Print Reading 
c. Welding 
d. Diesel Engine Construction 
e. Diesel Basic & Advanced Electricity 
f. Diesel Fuel Systems 
g. Heavy Truck Brakes 
h. Air Conditioning 

2. Identify and coordinate required equipment, tools and materials needed to effectively deliver classroom and laboratory instruction. 
3. Proactively communicate status and issues to College representative. 
4. Professionally represent College to the customer. 
5. Evaluate student learning and make recommendations. 
6. Maintain attendance and other training related records. 
7. Complete and submit all requisite paperwork accurately and on-time.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Associate's Degree; Current ASE Automotive or Medium/Heavy Truck certification; at least 2 years hands-on Medium/Heavy Truck Diesel Mechanic experience; 3+ years of instructional experience;  

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree; Current ASE Medium/Heavy Truck certification; 5 years hands-on Medium/Heavy Truck Diesel Mechanic experience; Desire to Teach; Ability to Communicate Technical information; Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational and presentational skills
